Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore named Dodd Trophy 'Coach of the Week' after Wolverines' 27-24 upset win over USC Trojans

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan football didn’t exactly light the field up against USC in Week 4 through the air, in part due to having a new starting quarterback in Alex Orji as well as the onus being on the ground game. But the Wolverines were also missing one important piece — tight end Colston Loveland.

Michigan football needed change and it needed it fast. After starting the season following the national championship with a whimper, the identity of the Wolverines either was lacking or it wasn't working.

Head coach Sherrone Moore said "doctors felt it would be in the best interest that (Loveland) not" play vs. USC, but he's "doing better" as of Monday.

Meeting with the media on Monday, head coach Sherrone Moore said that Loveland was close to being able to play last weekend and that he's making good progress with his recovery. "He's doing better," Moore said.
