Amazon sales like Prime Big Deal Days are one of the best times to buy a Kindle on the cheap, but they can also be a great time to pick up e-books. For the first day of the two-day event that is Prime Big Deal Days, Amazon has marked down tons of e-books, from self help to fiction and children's books, for prices as low as $1.99.

At WIRED, we're big fans of Kindles. It's an excellent solution for bookworms who always want access to tons of books on the go in a compact, lightweight form factor. But they can be expensive. If you've been holding off on buying one, you're in luck, because there are Amazon Prime Day Kindle deals on many of our favorite models.

In the UK, the 2022 Kindle I had my eye on has apparently disappeared from the face of the earth, as has the more expensive Kindle Paperwhite I was considering stretching to if the price was right. The only good deal going this year is a £100 saving on Amazon's Kindle Scribe, which is still £229 and way more than I was hoping to pay.
