On the heels of the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials, the Big Ten Basketball Tournaments, plus the World Hockey Juniors and Women’s Frozen Four coming next year, Minneapolis is lined up to host two more massive NCAA events in 2027 and 2028.

Minneapolis has been selected to host the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in 2028, as well as the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2027, the NCAA announced Wednesday.

The Twin Cities will host the 2027 NCAA men’s basketball tournament first- and second-round games at Target Center and the 2028 NCAA wrestling championships at U.S. Bank Stadium. It will be the first time the men’s March Madness tournament will be held at Target Center;

The 2028 NCAA D1 Wrestling championships are set for U.S. Bank Stadium, while early rounds of the 2027 Men's Basketball Tournament will take place at Target Center.

The NCAA also announced that Target Center will host the first and second rounds of the men’s basketball tournament in 2027.
