Funerals don’t usually smell like bacon-wrapped hot dogs. The scent — mixed with the high emotions – was prevalent late Thursday morning on the pedestrian bridge between Oakland Coliseum’s transit stop and the stadium’s entrance.

In an emotional farewell to the city of Oakland, the Athletics secured a 3-2 victory over the Texas Rangers on Thursday in front of a sold-out crowd at the Coliseum, marking the end of their 57 seasons at the iconic stadium.

Everybody said goodbye to Oakland Athletics baseball in their own way Thursday afternoon.
