Nicole Kidman has landed the lead in Scarpetta, but the character would have been better served coming to life without such a familiar face.

Amazon’s Prime Video is hitting the books once again. The streamer has greenlit Scarpetta, a crime drama based on author Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling series of novels about Virginia medical examiner Kay Scarpetta.

Prime Video has ordered two seasons of Scarpetta, an adaptation of Patricia Cornwell’s book series of the same name, with Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies, Expats) and Jamie Lee Curtis (The Bear, Everything Everywhere All at Once) attached to star.
