It looks like there's been an uptick in the number of reports for the first time since the Verizon outage started. It has remained steady for the last hour or so at just under 600 reports, but it jumped suddenly to 643 after 3:00 p.m. ET.

The Verizon Fios outage and reported problems map provided by Downdetector shows the part of the US currently impacted by the outage. Downdetector only reports an incident when the number of problem reports is significantly higher than the typical volume for that time of day.

Customers in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest lost internet access briefly before service was restored early Tuesday.
